The cover of Sweet & Wild by Alex Larkspur. Cover shows a young man in a straw hat sitting in a field of flowers with woods in the background.

Chris Zable was wonderful to work with. She cared so much about the story I was trying to tell, and helped me to tell it in the best way possible. Her editing was so thoughtful and thorough, but she made sure to keep my voice in my work. Chris was incredibly kind, communicative, and supportive all the way up to my release. I would love for other first-time authors to have the opportunity to work with her.

Huge thanks to Chris Zable, my editor, who's as good with commas and word choice as she is at making sure the sexual anatomy of beings from other worlds remains consistent throughout the manuscript.

The cover of Be the Sea by Clara Ward. Cover image shows a person scuba diving, accompanied by a variety of marine life and an autonomous undersea robot.

Chris brings a whole lifetime of experience and her genuinely inquisitive mind to every project. I appreciated the ease of communication and willingness to work with me on tricky fixes. I wholeheartedly recommend Chris to anyone who cares deeply about their project and wants to achieve the best possible result.

Clara Ward, Author, Be the Sea

Chris is friendly, proactive, and considerate, and gives thoughtful attention to the work as a whole alongside its details while centering the author’s style and voice. It is a pleasure to work with someone with a genuine love of storytelling and care for the communities creating, producing, and enjoying it.

E.D.E. Bell, Executive Editor, Atthis Arts

I worked with Chris as a copyeditor, and WOW was I impressed with her thoroughness, professionalism, enthusiasm, and kindness. Her attention to detail was second to none; not only did she ferret out misspellings and mistakes, she has a keen eye for repetition, awkward phrasing, and little details that just don’t quite make sense.

Chris helped tremendously with issues beyond mere wordsmithing, including making sure the correct pronouns were always in place, that the characters’ emotions were properly displayed, and myriad other details that add up over the course of a book. Her helpful comments, suggestions, and questions were always given in the spirit of making this the best book I could write, and her enthusiasm for the story and characters helped me achieve just that.

Dani Finn, Author, The World Within

The cover of The World Withing: A Weirdwater Romance by Dani Finn. Cover image shows a woman with long hair wearing a dress and twirling in a space with a vaulted ceiling.
The cover of Death in Douglas Glade: A Milverton Mystery by G.B. Ralph. Cover image shows a plump housecat with a local map in the background.

Chris was wonderful to work with and helped to bring out the best in my book. Thorough, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and with excellent attention to detail, Chris made copyediting a real pleasure. She recognised and respected my own idiosyncrasies and stylistic choices, offering helpful suggestions for improvement and clarity without ripping out what makes my writing unique.

G. B. Ralph, Author, Death in Douglas Glade

It was a pleasure to work with Chris on two of my novels. She most certainly picked up on things that I had missed. As an indie author, easily moving a book through the publishing process is important (usually because I’m late). We agreed dates for both books and both times Chris got her work back to me early. I also appreciated that when she corrected me, she sourced her information. Chris is that thorough. I would have no hesitation in recommending her work.
